Celebrating the Life and Faith of Ken Kennedy: A Family Reflectio
DivineStreamRadio.com — Today, we honor the remarkable life of Ken Kennedy, whose spiritual journey spanned 94 years, marked by faith, perseverance, and love. Ken’s funeral was a heartfelt gathering where family and friends paid tribute to a man whose legacy of faith and resilience touched many.
During the service, Ken’s son, John Kennedy, delivered a profound and moving speech that captured his father’s spiritual journey and the deep love he held for his family and faith.
John Kennedy’s Reflection on His Father’s Faith Journey
“Dad’s life has truly been an incredible spiritual journey — one marked by highs and lows, detours and discoveries, but always, in some way, with Jesus walking beside him. From his Anglican roots, through a life of business success, to a renewed and deepened faith later in life, Dad’s journey was one of growth and grace.
He first committed his life to Jesus at a Billy Graham crusade in the 1960s. However, as life became busier, his faith quietly slipped into the background. It was only in the mid-1980s, through a friendship and gentle challenge from mentors like Marty Sherman and Neil Pickard, that Dad began to truly reflect on what it meant to walk with Christ.
Despite setbacks, including strained family relationships and disagreements, God’s grace softened his heart over the years. Joining a prayer group in 2012 marked a turning point, leading to a renewed faith that culminated in his heartfelt decision to become a Catholic—honoring his wife, Mum, and the unity she longed for.
In his final years, Dad found peace, forgiving past hurts and embracing his faith with sincerity. His love for family, his church, and his support for Israel and the Jewish people remained central to his life’s passion.
We are grateful for the 94 years we shared with Ken, and we look forward to seeing him again in heaven. Rest well, Dad—you’ve run your race, and your faith continues to inspire us all.”
